Emotitech undertook the research and development of an experiential kit through a rigorous and enriching process. This journey began with a foundation in perception science, followed by the validation of experiential data using affective technology. The collected data, combined with a multi-sensory narrative approach, informed the empathic design of the product, culminating in the creation of the experiential kit.
This project involved collaboration with esteemed professionals, including perception scientist Hoby Wedler and experts in affective and behavioral analysis. Designer Roberto Martignone contributed to the product design, and Meba Bioresine, a leader in sustainable luxury from Italy, played a crucial role. Additionally, the dedicated project managers at Emotitech were integral to the project’s success.
The current version of the experiential kit integrates up to six sensory elements, structured similarly to the Braille module with a six-dot grid. With the support of the New York-based PR firm Colangelo & Partners, a custom edition of the kit was tested at international press events for Consorzio del Prosecco. Hoby Wedler designed a unique tasting experience that featured a selection of Prosecco wines, incorporating three tactile elements and three aromas. These elements were central to a complex, multi-sensory blindfolded experience led by Hoby. To enhance the immersive experience, sound designer Andrea Schiavini composed a soundtrack inspired by the kit's selected sensory elements.
The kit was showcased at four distinct locations, each offering unique elements, beginning with its experimental launch in Milan during the 2024 Design Week and Vinitaly in Verona. It was then presented at the prestigious US Prosecco Week in June, with events held at the Press Club in San Francisco, Numero 10, the Los Angeles restaurant of Juventus soccer player Alessandro Del Piero, and concluding at The Leopard at des Artistes in Manhattan, New York.
